Mark was born 18 January 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduation from Parma Senior High in 1981 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician’s Mate. Following an Honorable Discharge in 1986, he moved back to Cleveland to begin his studies for the priesthood. Mark graduated from Borromeo College of Ohio in 1991 with a double major in Philosophy and Psychology and a double minor in French and Spanish.
Upon completion of two years of graduate work in theology, Mark moved to the Diocese of Raleigh in 1993 where he served one year at St. Raphael’s in Raleigh as a pastoral-year seminarian. Mark completed his seminary training at St. Meinrad in southern Indiana and was ordained to the priesthood in June, 1996. His assignments have been as follows:
Mark’s parents still live in Cleveland. He has one younger sister who is married and lives in Dayton, Ohio with her husband and two daughters.
