Local Project Rachel - Post Abortion Reconciliaton and HealingAfter Abortion You made the decision to have an abortion. It may have happened recently or many years ago, and yet that decision has left you feeling confused and emotionally wounded. You were unprepared for the deep sense of loss you've experienced since that time and you've silently carried your pain. Perhaps you've also experienced feelings of fear, anxiety, guilt, panic, or hopelessness. These can be typical-not only for the woman who underwent the abortion but also for the father of the child, the grandparents, close friends, even the assisting medical personnel. What can you do? Where can you go? Who will listen? If you are suffering from the effects of an abortion, we want you to know that there is help and there is hope. You can heal and you are not alone. |
♥ Project Rachel offers a means to extend the healing grace of God. In a caring and hopeful context, you will be able to move toward reconciliation-with yourself, your unborn child, your family, your Church, and God. Your call to the Project Rachel office will be answered by a companion volunteer. The companion is there to listen. She may also discuss your options with you and help you as you decide on the next step of your healing journey. All calls are kept strictly confidential. At the center of your healing journey awaits a spiritual renewal; therefore, Project Rachel enlists the services of specially trained priests to administer the Catholic sacrament of Reconciliation, if desired. Referrals to ministers of other denominations will be made when requested. Weekend healing retreats offer the opportunity to experience God's love, forgiveness and compassion in a supportive and confidential environment. When needed, counseling sessions with a professional therapist are also available. And small, confidential support groups convene regularly. |
♥ A trained volunteer will answer your call during the listed office hours; however, you may contact us by phone or mail anytime. Rachel mourns her children, she refuses to be consoled because her children are no more. Thus says the Lord: "Cease your cries of mourning. Wipe the tears from your eyes. The sorrow you have shown shall have its reward. There is hope for your future." Jeremiah 31: 15-17 |
