Our Pastor
Father Fernando Torres
Fernando was born in the year 1960 in Bogotá, Columbia. He graduated from Minor Seminar in 1978. After graduating he attended the Major Seminar from 1979-1985 at the Archdiocese of Bogotá, Columbia. On November 23, 1985 he was ordained to the priesthood. Fr. Fernando served in the Archdiocese of Bogotá until he moved to the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina, on November 15, 1995.
His assignments have been as follows:
1995-1997: St. Frances of Sales, Lumberton (Parochial Vicar) Serving the communities of St. Andrew’s in Red Springs and St. Elizabeth of Hungry in Raeford. 1997-2001: St. Mary’s, Mount Olive (Pastoral Administrator) 2001-2006: Diocese of Raleigh (Vicar for Hispanics) 2006-2010: Immaculate Conception, Clinton (Pastor) 2010- : St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Fuquay-Varina (Pastor) During this time Fernando has been writing articles for the North Carolina Catholic Magazine and also producing the “La Voz Católica” a radio station for the diocese.
Fr. Fernando’s parents live in Bogotá, Columbia. He has one older sister and 4 younger sisters, also living in Bogotá, Columbia.
