Diocese of Raleigh Year of Faith Resources
In response to the decree by Pope Benedict XVI, in his Apostolic letter, Porta Fidei, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge formed a Steering Committee to design resources and activities to celebrate this special year throughout the Diocese of Raleigh.
The subcommittee for formation and education developed this resource booklet, which is adaptable for parishes, schools, and faith formation programs. As a suggested timeframe, the year has been divided into quarters, beginning with our Diocesan opening of the Year of Faith on October 20, 2012, at the Catholic Convocation. Two themes, from each of the four pillars of the Catholic Catechism of the Church, were selected as quarterly focuses for the year. Every theme includes: prayers, scripture readings, reflection questions, resources, catechesis, fast facts, and faith in action. Each two themes are followed by a study of a Vatican II Constitution and a special interest focus.
